Why I started DixonTown

Keeping the small-town feel

My family and I moved to Dixon, CA in late 2024. What I love most is the small-town feel. DixonTown is my way of helping keep that closeness.

I spent most of my career in high tech. Now I’m semi-retired, a small business owner and still a techie. I know how hard it is to start a business, and how much harder it is to keep one going.

Like many Dixonites, I share reviews of local eateries and contractors on Facebook. Those reviews are great, but they get lost over time.

Google reviews don’t. Every Dixon, CA business, new or established, can use more of them. That’s why our business listings include a direct link to each business’s Google review page. One click, about 2 minutes, and you’ve helped a neighbor’s business get found.

We don’t have every Google Business Profile linked yet. If you own a business, send us your working Google review link and we’ll add it.

No Google Business Profile yet? Let’s fix that together. I’d like to work with local tech people to run a free first workshop for business owners. We just need a room and a date. And if another local tech company wants to offer setup as a paid service, I’m happy to promote them.
